William Hanger

Will joined the pantry team in July 2026, after volunteering with us. As Acquisition Specialist, he sources, transports, and processes the food donations that keep The Market and our partner agencies stocked, ensuring guests have a full choice of high-quality food to shop for each week.

Will comes to the pantry with a background in environmental protection and public service. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Marine Science Technician and worked as an oil spill pollution investigator in New York City. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Southern New Hampshire University.

Will lives in Salem with his wife Laura and their golden retriever, Selkie. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, sailing, gardening, and keeping tropical fish. He is passionate about conservation, especially protecting forests, marine habitats, and the frozen regions of the planet.
