Is There an Age Requirement to Volunteer?
The minimum age age to volunteer with The Salem Pantry is 5 years old!
● Youth under 14, must be accompanied by an adult.
● Youth ages 14-17 need parental permission and a signed waiver.
● Youth waivers only need to be signed once a year.
We encourage families, school groups, sports teams, scout groups and more to volunteer and connect with their local community!
Please note that some shifts are a lot more appropriate for small children than others.
What Should I Wear To My Volunteer Shift?
To ensure your safety and comfort during your volunteer experience, be sure to wear closed-toed shoes at all our volunteer sites. Additionally, we recommend selecting clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.
If you’re planning to volunteer at The Market, we provide volunteers with a apron that covers the top half of their body.
