David Velasquez

Program Coordinator

David joined the pantry team in March 2026. As Program Coordinator, he oversees direct-to-home delivery programs and serves as the organization’s primary SNAP Outreach Coordinator, helping guests access nutritional assistance and ensuring food reaches those who need it most.

David brings over six years of experience as a Senior Area Manager at C&W Services, as well as a background in hospitality spanning multiple locations. He is currently completing his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, expected at the end of 2026.

David lives in Melrose, MA, and is a true outdoors enthusiast. He enjoys camping, running, traveling, and cooking. A few fun facts: he took a month off to backpack through Argentina, Uruguay, and Peru, hiking in the Patagonian mountains, night walking the Peruvian Amazon, and sampling all the wine Mendoza had to offer. He completed his first marathon in January 2026 and is already training for the Philadelphia Marathon this November. He is also a proud participant in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and has been paired with his Little for nearly two years.

“The Salem Pantry’s work matters to me because it turns something essential like groceries into an experience that feels empowering and human. I’m looking forward to joining a team that not only supports the community but does it with warmth, creativity, and a spirit that makes people excited to show up.”

“The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.” — Bob Marley
