The Salem Pantry Elects Sean Monahan as New Board Chair
Honors the Contributions of Bonnie Henry and Rebecca Greene
Salem, MA (January 21, 2025) – The Salem Pantry (TSP), whose mission is to “empower its diverse local and regional communities by ensuring the essential right to convenient and reliable access to healthy food,” has appointed Sean Monahan as its new Board Chair.
Monahan, a partner at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP, represents banks and institutional investors in a range of high-profile and complex commercial financing transactions involving professional sports teams, major sports leagues, and collegiate sports conferences. He brings extensive leadership experience, and a proven ability to address complex challenges and foster strong relationships.
“I am honored to follow Bonnie as The Salem Pantry’s Board Chair, and I am excited to work with Robyn, the staff and my fellow board members, as well as our volunteers, sponsors and donors, to provide convenient and reliable access to healthy food for our local and regional communities,” said Monahan.
As TSP looks toward the future, it also celebrates the exceptional contributions of two long-serving board members: Bonnie Henry and Rebecca Greene. Henry and Greene have been instrumental in shaping TSP’s success over the past 20 years, expanding its reach and impact in the Greater Salem community. Bonnie guided the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic and a period of significant organizational growth. Before that, Rebecca’s leadership laid the foundation for the organization’s continued growth and ability to serve its mission.
“Bonnie and Rebecca have left a lasting impact on The Salem Pantry and I am grateful for the work that we have accomplished together,” states Executive Director, Robyn Burns. “I look forward to collaborating with Sean to continue addressing the pressing need for food security in Salem and across the North Shore.”
